There Can Be Only One

“There can be only one society, one to rule them all. We are all one, we are all in one, and any who are not in the One must be assimilated.” This is the real nihilism, a philosophy that denies individual moral direction and assigns all power to the State, the avatar of the social conscience.

Here’s what inspired that:

German family seeks US asylum to homeschool kids

“Germany sticks out in the midst of Western Europe for having this harsh repression against parents,” [HSLDA lawyer] Donnelly said. “They have this notion that homeschool creates this parallel society and they deem that as dangerous.”

“It’s really different in public schools today than when I was in public school,” [homeschooling father] Romeike said. “They (the state) believe children must be socialized and all kids must grow up the same and act the same, otherwise they wouldn’t fit in society.”

“The idea is homeschooling might lead to the emergence of separate societies that would not share the same vision of the (German) state,” [Cornell Law School professor] Meyler said.

We don’t want too much diversity and individual choice, now do we? Very bad for the establishment of a tyrannical scientific dictatorship.

  1. Just a little note to tell you I miss your thoughts on FFQF. It’s all free form these days, we don’t have any particular theme.

Here’s Herky’s post today, with my link in the comments, if I can entice you.
