This explains why it is so very important to elect Mitt Romney:
A cabinet minister in Egypt, aware of the common ground shared by Muslims and Latter-day Saints, once remarked to Elder Howard W. Hunter of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles that “if a bridge is ever built between Christianity and Islam it must be built by the Mormon Church.”
[Howard W. Hunter, “All Are Alike Unto God,” Speeches of the Year (1979), 36.]
Actually, it does not matter so much what Mr. Romney believes. The more significant fact is how quickly non-Mormons have twisted themselves into knots for the sake of party politics: from criticizing Obama for not being Christian enough in his theology, to praising Romney for having great “moral values”, despite a depraved theology. This shows that, regardless of what the Republican voters believe, they have no integrity.
